Blake Brandes To Perform At Bay Path
On Wednesday, March 14th, students of Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School will learn about the growth mindset and grit from Blake Brandes, who has a doctorate in hip-hop and global youth cultures. He is also a TEDx speaker and international youth motivational speaker.
Brandes will present the work of Carol Dweck and Angela Duckworth in a fun, accessible manner that empowers children of all ages. The presentation will include age-appropriate and engaging growth mindset and grit lessons infused with beatboxing, comedic storytelling, and family-friendly freestyle rapping.
In a statement shared with us, Blake said, “When students adopt a growth mindset, they become more resilient when facing challenges at school and at home, are less likely to give up, and believe more in their power to learn new things.”
Dina LePage from Bay Path told THE LAKE 940, “Blake’s enthusiasm and energy are contagious. He has developed a program that is unique and reaches out to today’s youth through hip hop and beat-boxing. There are so many negatives in today’s society and Blake teaches them coping skills through his ‘Growth Mindset’ presentation and empowers them to face the challenges in life that they encounter on a regular basis.”
Through a demonstration of his passion for beatboxing and freestyle rap, along with stories of his own struggle to achieve his goals, Brandes brings energy and enthusiasm to the stage that allows him to connect with students.
Not only does Blake perform at many schools and businesses, but he’s also appeared on America’s Got Talent.
