Florida Fugitive Arrested In Danielson

On Tuesday, March 6th just before noontime, a Connecticut State Police Trooper was sent to investigate a home on Main Street in Danielson.  Police were checking on an individual believed to be wanted on an active out of state warrant.  Upon the trooper’s arrival, 37 year old James “Blizz” Alston was found to have an active extraditable arrest warrant from Winter Haven, Florida.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest warrant was active for the charge of domestic violence of battery by strangulation.  Alston was taken into custody and was charged with being a fugitive from justice.  He was transported back to Troop D, where he was processed and held on a $100,000 cash bond.  He appeared in Danielson Superior Court on Wednesday, March 7th.
