Double Stabbing In Woonsocket

Police in Woonsocket are investigating a double stabbing that occurred shortly after 7PM on Monday night.
One victim suffering from serious injuries was transported to Landmark Medical Center. The stabbing is believed to have occurred on or near the Hamlet Avenue footbridge. A second victim arrived at the same hospital a short time later.
Both victims are male adults in their late teens and both had to be transferred to Rhode Island Hospital for further treatment.
Police Chief Thomas Oates says that it appears the two men met at the footbridge and had an altercation that led to the stabbings.
This incident is still under investigation, it is still unclear if any other people were involved.
