“Come see what the library can do for you” on Saturday, September 29th from 10AM to 12Noon at the new Gladys E. Kelly Public Library, located at 2 Lake Street in Webster.

A ribbon cutting will start off the celebration and grand opening with the Bartlett High School Show Choir and announcements from Town Administrator Doug Willardson.

There will be fun for the whole family, including a touch a truck event on the lawn, with the Webster Fire Department, Jake the mascot from the Worcester Bravehearts baseball team and live music performed by the Pulaski Brass Band.  Inside, children and adults will be able to tour the new space, meet children’s author Donna McCarthy, discuss Literacy Programs with Webster Public Schools, learn about astronomy with the Aldrich Astronomical Society, experience the interactive display honoring the former Chester C. Corbin Library.

This state-of-the-art new library was carefully designed with all ages in mind.  It provides community space for children, teens, adults and seniors alike.  While you are there you can get your new library card and check out the adult, pre-teen, and children’s sections with new computers, lounging spaces and gaming section for young adults.

In case you were wondering, Gladys E. Kelly was the mother of Mrs. Marilyn Fels, who, with her husband, Gerald, were asked to choose the name of the new library because of their generous $1 million dollar donation.
