Just before 7:30PM on Monday, June 17th, Charlton Police, Fire and EMS were called to a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Stafford Street and Center Depot Road.

The 2 vehicle accident closed the roadway for a short time as a white GMC van and black Ford Escape were removed.  As police investigated, they said, “it became apparent to the officers on scene that the driver of the Escape, Jonathan Morrissey of Holden, appeared to have been consuming an alcoholic beverage and was unsteady on his feet.”

Morrissey was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests.  There were no major injuries reported.

In addition to an operating under the influence charge, Morrissey was also charged with failure to stop, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
