Dudley Police Chief Steve Wojnar, Webster Police Chief Timothy Bent, and Webster Deputy Police Chief Mike Shaw were among the thousands of participants in the 30th Annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk held on Sunday, September 23rd.

The entire 26.2 mile Boston Marathon route from Hopkinton to Boston is used for the charity walk.  Chief Wojnar told us in a press release, several police chiefs from across the state, and their families, walked the final three miles to the Boston Marathon finish line.  Some even walked the entire marathon route.

This fundraiser is geared towards raising money for children with cancer in New England.  Millions of dollars were raised to help with cancer treatment and research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  The Jimmy Fund is the main charity of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, which Chief Wojnar is President of.
