Massachusetts Inspections Resume After Malware Attack
The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicle’s inspection system should be back online at most locations beginning today. Over the weekend, state officials announced many machines came back online on Saturday morning.
Getting cars inspected had not been possible since March 30th due to a malware attack.
Drivers whose inspection stickers expire in March or April 2021 will be given until the end of May to get their new sticker.
If you newly purchased or registered a vehicle after March 23, you should plan to get an inspection by April 30. If you had a recent inspection rejection you will be given an extra day for each day the system was down.
