Slippery Roads Blamed For Morning Crashes
Leicester Police responded to a call for a motor vehicle that slid off Chapel Street at 7:45 on Monday morning. It was a close call for the driver the 2007 Ford Fusion first struck a tree and then went nose first over an embankment stopping just inches away from going underwater in a nearby pond. Police say the driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was treated at the scene for a minor injury.
A second crash due to the winter weather also occurred in Leicester this morning, about 40 minutes earlier on Baldwin Street. That accident involved a Jeep Cherokee and a Ford Escape which collided sending the Jeep into a tree. There were no injuries reported.
