Sturbridge Police
While some people were getting ready to watch fireworks on the 4th of July, Sturbridge Police say the 2 females in the photo above entered the Shaw’s Supermarket in town around 7PM and made off with several hundreds of dollars after playing a scam on a store associate.
Police are looking for help from the public in identifying the pair. They are accused of using a ‘sleight of hand technique’ on a cashier. The technique involves requesting change for large amount of money, hiding a portion of the money when counted back to them, while also attempting to distract and confuse the cashier.
Police say the women made off with a total of $240 in cash from the store.
