Webster Police have announced that 2 of their cruisers were involved in crashes this week.  The first accident took place over the line in Oxford last Thursday involving Officer Jacek Ochocki as he  was traveling on Cudworth Road over the bridge by Route 395.  Police say a minivan swerved into his lane and struck his cruiser head-on.  The cruiser sustained extensive front-end damage, but luckilly neither the officer, nor the operator of the other vehicle, had significant injuries.  That collision is being investigated by the Oxford Police Department and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council.

The second crash involved Officer Patrick Trainor en route to a medical call on Thursday.  It happened on Thompson Road as the officer passed a vehicle on the left with lights and siren activated.  While attempting to pass, the vehicle began to turn, striking the passenger side of the cruiser, causing it to strike the curb.  There were no injuries as a result of this crash.

Police remind you to please be alert while driving, and “Please remember that when an emergency vehicle is approaching, pull over to the right and stop.”

The second crash is being investigated the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, with Officer Jason Miglionico from the Auburn Police Department as the lead investigator.
