Just after 11AM on Friday, crews were called to South Pond after getting a call that the Indian Princess riverboat had run aground.  Webster Police say 60 senior citizens from Wilmington were on board at the time.  Police and fire department boats arrived at the scene where first responders helped to evacuate the occupants to the shore.

The boat was blown off course due to high winds, and no injuries were reported.  Police say everyone was “in great spirits and hope they return to resume their voyage at another time.”

It is not known if the boat sustained any damage.  It is expected to be towed away in the near future.
