2 Charged With Trafficking Cocaine In Southbridge
On Friday May 14th Southbridge Police executed two search warrants for narcotics. The first took place at an apartment on 330 Hamilton Street, the second outside in a vehicle believed to be used to transport narcotics throughout the area.
More than 66 grams of suspected cocaine packaged for distribution was found, along with a digital scale, approximately $6,000 in cash and other packaging materials were seized.
Southbridge Police tell THE LAKE 940 that 41-year-old Jose Valentin and 43-year-old Yazmin Torres-Maldonado were charged with trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and other offenses. Valentin posted $10,040 and Torres-Maldonado posted $5,040 cash bail shortly after their arrests. Both were arraigned in Dudley District Court on May 17th and will appear at a later date.
