Mass. Unemployment Rate Nearly Unchanged In December

The Massachusetts unemployment rate for December was 3.5 percent. That’s a tenth-of-a-percent lower than the November number. The national jobless rate for last month is 4.1 percent. The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development says the biggest private sector job gains in the Commonwealth in 2017 were in construction; professional, scientific and business Services; leisure and hospitality.
