Portion Of Route 146 Closed This Weekend

If you have plans drive on Route 146 this weekend, you might need to find an alternate route. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has a planned demolition of the Woonsocket Hill Road Bridge that will require the closure of Route 146 North and South in North Smithfield. The highway closure began Friday night and is expected to be entirely closed until 10AM on Saturday. Beginning at 10AM on Saturday, one lane on Route 146 North will re-open. Saturday at 2PM both northbound lanes will open. Saturday at 10PM both southbound lanes should re-open.
Of course due to the inclement weather there could be a delay to any of this road work. Detours will be posted as detailed in the map below.
