Truck And Scooter Collide On Route 9 In Leicester

Just before 7PM on Wednesday, May 23rd, Leicester Police responded to a crash on Route 9 near Soojian’s Drive. A 30 year old Leicester man had left the Walmart parking lot heading east on Route 9 when he collided with a 2005 GMC pickup truck that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The truck was being operated by a 34 year old Leicester resident. The crash is being investigated by Leicester Police and the Central Massachusetts Accident Reconstruction Unit.
The operator of the scooter was transported by ambulance to UMass Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. No word on any charges being filed at this time.
