Webster Police have announced a recent drug arrest on North Main Street. Around 10 AM on June 25th an officer made a motor vehicle stop after receiving information about a possible drug sale. Police say the driver, 53-year-old Nicolas Diaz Rivera of Worcester, was found to have crack cocaine and heroin “secreted on his person.” Officers seized about 14 grams of cocaine and $300. Rivera was charged with Possession of Class A and B substances with intent to distribute. He was held on $790 cash bail and arraigned at Dudley District Court on June 28th.

Upon arrival, police and fire crews found a pickup truck down an embankment into a small river. According to the Charlton Police Department, beginning July 6th, Brookfield Road at the intersection of City Depot Road will be closed for bridge replacement work over Cady Brook. Read MoreIf you were commuting on Route 395 on Friday morning you were probably in standstill traffic. Crews from Webster and Oxford Fire-EMS responded to a fully engulfed tractor-trailer fire at around 10:20 AM. Prior to first responders arriving, the driver was able to disconnect the tractor from the trailer and move it away from the fire. Due to the location of the fire, both lanes of 395 had to be closed while crews battled the flames. Traffic was backed up for several miles. The road re-opened to traffic once the remains of the truck were cleared away and traffic slowly returned to normal speeds. Photos from the scene are below.

THE LAKE 940 has learned a 911 call was placed at around 5:20 PM on Tuesday afternoon after shots were fired. Officers were dispatched to their own Police Station lobby at 12:15 PM on Tuesday, June 15th for the report of a disorderly disturbance.
