Smoking Materials Likely Cause Of Deadly Webster Fire
The office of the Massachusetts Fire Marshall has announced the cause of the deadly fire on High Street in Webster will be listed as “undetermined.”
The 3-alarm blaze claimed the life of 60-year-old Paul Duvall on May 19th. When first responders arrived on the scene, police officers were able to rescue a woman that was trapped on the roof of the home by borrowing a ladder from a neighbor.
It is believed Duvall became trapped inside while trying to rescue pets from inside the burning home. Webster Fire Chief Brian Hickey offered condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
Even though the cause of the fire is labeled as undetermined, improper disposal of smoking materials is listed as the most probable cause of the fire.
